Welcome to the official website of 1557 (Friars School) Squadron, Air Training Corps the premier youth organisation in Bangor, North Wales, and one of the top squadrons in the area.
Based in the Bangor, North Wales, near to Snowdonia, Anglesey and the Menai Straights we are definitely in the right place to offer a variety of activities and challenges to our cadets.
As a squadron we offer many different activities that are available to air cadets, our cadets are enjoying flying, gliding, target shooting, annual camps, climbing, canoeing and sports to name but a few. We also provide the opportunity for achieving BTEC certificates, Duke of Edinburgh awards, flying scholarships and gliding scholarship for those who wish it. It's also great fun and an opportunity to make lots of new friends and achieve things you never thought possible.
The squadron is open to anybody between the ages of 13 and 17 years old, or if you're over 20 why not volunteer as a member of staff? All staff on the squadron give up their spare time to help train and guide cadets in a variety of subjects, but also have the opportunity to take part in the many activities on offer as without adults the activities just don't happen.
